Why We Rock
We are Canada’s only non-audition rock choir! We have best-in-class musical direction, and original and unique musical arrangements from well-known rock and pop repertoire. Each semester ends with a performance accompanied by professional musicians (guitar, bass, drums, piano) to provide a true rockstar experience!
There are 4 different choirs across the GTA, and one in Kingston
Each season you learn, practice and perform 24 songs with your choir
As a member you get access to sheet music and rehearsal recordings (so you can practice at home!)
We host special events throughout the year like member retreats, open mic nights and workshops to build community and performance skills! (These are offered at an additional registration cost)
Our Ethos
Voices Rock believes that EVERYONE can sing, that’s why you don’t need to audition to join one of our choirs. We strive for joy, connection and self-expression at every turn! We support each other, encourage growth, and love to watch our friends be brave and accomplish their musical goals. We sing together because it’s FUN and we’re all after the same thing: a good time with great friends.
Voices Rock Canada is a registered Canadian charity, #7980 0097 RT0001. Approximately 85% of our costs are covered by membership fees. We rely on donations, both corporate and personal to offset our operating costs. A charitable tax receipt is issued for every donation over twenty-five dollars.
Voices Rock Canada is proud to be part of a rich history of music, art and education in this province. We acknowledge the land we are gathering on is the traditional territory of the Mississaugas of the Credit, the Anishinaabe, the Chippewa, the Haudenosaunee, the Wendat peoples. We respect the rights, legacy, history, culture and traditions of all First Peoples of Canada. We are uninvited guests to this land and through treaties, we acknowledge that we are allowed to stay here, provided we respect the land, water and share the resources. Voices Rock Canada embraces the land, water, creatures and humans that are still home to many Indigenous Peoples across Turtle Island; we are sincerely grateful to be able to live, work, walk, dance and sing within these communities.
