Our Team

  • Cheryl Bower, Founder & President

Cheryl Bower founded Voices Rock Canada with a simple belief: everyone deserves a place where they can belong, be heard and experience the joy of making music together.

What began in 2016 as a small pilot project has grown into a registered Canadian charity and a thriving musical community bringing together singers across generations and backgrounds. Today, Voices Rock Canada encompasses non-audition rock and pop choirs for adults, seniors and women physicians.

A lifelong musician, performer, songwriter and creative entrepreneur, Cheryl has spent decades immersed in music and the arts, including performing at Toronto's Koerner Hall and New York's Carnegie Hall. But for her, music has always been about far more than performance.

It is about connection. It is about belonging. And it is about finding your voice.

Cheryl believes some of the most meaningful moments happen not under a spotlight, but in the rehearsal room—when someone who was hesitant to sing discovers their confidence, when strangers become friends, and when a group of individuals discovers what is possible when they raise their voices together.

Beyond Voices Rock Canada, Cheryl continues to explore the intersection of music, creativity, storytelling and human connection through her writing, visual art and songwriting.

After ten seasons, her original belief remains unchanged: music belongs to everyone.

“The most powerful thing about music isn't the person standing at the microphone. It's what happens when everyone starts singing together.”
